northern explorer PCN

managed to wake up early to go for a run on mon morning before it started raining. managed to finish 6km only. was planning to run further but i felt pain on my left knee. anyway, there's a newly completed 25km Northern Explorer Park Connector Network! shall squeeze one day out from my busy schedule to explore this completed PCN. the map can be found here. haha. i have been visiting togoparts every day to look at road bikes. those expensive bikes are super cool sia.

tues was NCC live range day 1. everything was still ok until it started raining at about 3+, just before the team shoot was about to begin. it was cancelled and will be carried out tmr. this probably means that tmr will end a little later. hopefully everything will run smoothly tmr.

still contemplating whether to register for the sundown marathon 2011. 65$ to 'SLEEP CAN WAIT. Beat the sunrise'. haha. a little expensive uh. the ultramarathon is now 100km instead of the previous 84km. hmm. maybe i finish standchart2010 1st then see how. but for now, sleep can no longer wait as i have to wake up at 6am tmr to beat the sunrise. hahahahaha.

and so E coy fieldcamp ended. i guess the next time i see the recruits in my section will be during their graduation parade. Although it was just a short few days of interaction with the recruits from A and E coy, i made an effort to know more about them besides just teaching them what they need to know. sometimes, i just wish that i can spend more time with my recruits and get to know them better, rather than to just teach and go. haiz. thinking back, i have taken 5 batches of recruits already. L, C, F, A and E. few weeks later will be my 6th batch le, F coy. raja, a recruit from my 3rd batch was talking to me on fb just now. i still remembered he was the one who cant shoot well during his recruit days. felt really happy for him when he was telling me that he obtained marksman for his 1st year shoot. congrats! it's really nice to know that my recruits still remember you even though graduated long ago.

next mon going for my dental appointment @ ktph. as for tues, thurs and fri, i'll be attached out to assist in the NCC live range @ neesoon camp. praying that the range will end early for each day and not drag until very late. haha. sat will be back in tekong to conduct lesson. 20 more days to SCmarathon. i need to start running, but it has been raining recently. the last time i ran was the nike city 10k run. 'you better run run run run...' (run bear bear run)

festival of lights

happy deepavali to all! just completed A coy's 4-day fieldcamp on thursday. fieldcamp site was full of mosquitoes. next fieldcamp will be the one for E coy which starts next mon and ends on sat. talking about sat, i drove to jalan kayu for supper last sat night. what's so special was that i drove on my own, without the supervision of my pa. it has been 1year 5months since i passed my driving test and pa finally agreed to let me drive alone. i guess this means that i will be going out for supper quite often. haha. was looking at ukulele this afternoon. came across this cute website - ukulele hunt. the more i see, the more i feel like getting one. Lanikai LU-21 Soprano Ukulele! hahaha. alright. ma asking me to go drink soup. shall end here.

wisdom tooth

khoo teck puat hospital. nice environment. it seems less crowded than other hospital like ttsh. saw students studying at ktph too. lol. the staff at the dental centre located at the sixth floor was very helpful and friendly. i guess i'm not going for the free minor surgery to extract my wisdom teeth since they are not out yet and only one is out by a little bit only. they are not causing any problem yet. met thomas and his dad. he (i mean thomas, not his dad) was extracting his wisdom teeth. booked another appointment on 15 nov to polish my teeth. was a little disappointed that it wont be covered by saf. hahaha. no need to book in tonight. yay! tmr is my off day.

sweet 16

ran 16km on friday to train for army half marathon which is two weeks away from now. enjoyed the morning run. 1st 8km was slow and steady, with nicholas and weizhou by my side. we talked while running and even sang. went a little faster after that. hopefully can complete the full 21km under 2h on 12sep.

went to simlim with few of my bunk mates yesterday to see see look look around. i'm still thinking whether to get an external hard drive. probably i'll be going to the comex show next weekend. visited the army market @ beach road too. came back to yishun and went for a hair cut.

went back to bugis today. -.- sing song session @ top one ktv with bernard, hongkai and justin. just reached home not long ago. shall go have my dinner now. booking in later lo! haha.

tiring week

it rained for the last 5 days when we were out for fieldcamp. this fieldcamp was much better than the previous one with the other coy. overall, things went smoothly. had a night mission on friday morning at 0240. the mission was to plan a bomb (which is an alarm clock) at the enemy's harbour site. i had 3 recruits following me. it was quite tough. the harbour area was well guarded with patrolling team and also sentries. the misson wasnt successful. anyway, it was quite fun although we were super tired.

back from the beautiful island of taksi and mushroom weeks ago. haha. those who have been to bali will understand why taksi and mushroom. a great place for holiday though. stayed at home for one week+ since last sat because of hand food mouth disease. -.- went out just now to catch 'street dance'. it's not bad, but 'step up' is nicer i guess. anyway, it's 9th aug. so...

another loooong break until 25th july. will be going to bali on wed. yay! this trip wasnt well planned. aiya. enough about the planning process. it was totally screwed up. anyway, hope that the 6 of us who are going will enjoy ourselves during the 4 days over at bali.

finished watching mall cop yesterday and karate kid just now. probably will go hunt for a Bali travel guide tmr though i read up a little on bali and took down some notes. i just dont feel safe without a travel guidebook. hahah. but first, i shall look for some nice movies to watch. yeah.

long break. clearing off and leave at the moment. booked out last thurs afternoon. went to ubin on sat with my cousins. $2.50 one-way boat ride, $10 bike rental fee. it's durian season. so there are a lot of durians hanging on the trees and everyone is waiting for them to drop. durian lovers who want to have a durian buffet can pay $5 for two-way trip to ubin for the feast. a good deal.

met up with lejun and bernard on sun. went jalan jalan at simlim and bugis. took a train down to buona vista in the later afternoon to meet sme team mates. bbq at ethan's house. something funny, or rather embarrassing happened while on my way down to buona vista. i was on the train watching 'drag me to hell'. there was this scene near the beginning which took place at the carpark, with the mysterious old lady's handkerchief floating around. then came a sudden pop-up of the handkerchief. LOL. that scene made me jump. most people facing me saw me jump up. so embarrassing la. i guess some tried to tahan not to laugh out lo. heck la. i continued the ride but watched 500 days of summer instead. moral of the story: never ever watch horror film on public transport.

bbq turned out well. just that we ordered a little too much food. haha. only a few of us stayed back to watch world cup final. left at 5.30am and back to home to sleep. had dinner with ronald at northpoint last night. i've been going out everyday. finally can stay home for today and tmr. shall tidy up my room later. maybe a run tmr morning, provided that the weather is good and i can wake up early. haha.

duties

i came home this morning. booking out on a book-in day. did COS duty yesterday. more duties coming my way next week. haha. took part in the National Runway Cycling & Skating 2010 at paya lebar air base. had off last monday. went out with bernard to get spray paint. we went to beach road army market to find. lol. we ended up eating ah balling tangyuan @ golden mile food centre. a must-try peanut soup tangyuan with fillings like red bean, peanut, black sesame, yam and also green tea.

last fri was my last day in f coy as a section commander. a little sad to leave the coy because of the recruits and most of the nice commanders. but no worries, i'll see them around on the beautiful island of pulau tekong. haha. finally finished reading 'the last song' by nicholas sparks which i borrowed from nicholas goh. hopefully can get a nice book during my next nights out.

home sweet home

i'm finally home. had off today. had been in camp for 2 weeks plus due to recruits' 2 week confinement. went out to cut hair in the late morning and slacked at home. booking in later at night as i'm having duty tmr. will be out again on sat. there's National Runway Cycling & Skating 2010 on sun. 45km cycling. wooo!

today is 17june. one year ago, i received my driving licence. one year already! no need to display triangular plate anymore! haha.

It's the same as always. Nothing has changed.
