making a difference

i just went to play basketball with DT. who is DT? david tao (陶喆)? nono. DT is david tan, one of the students from yishun cdac shg. he was asking me to go play basketball in the morning. went back to cdac for a meeting last week. remembered wayne (yishun shg coordintor) mention smth about mentoring. he said that mentoring is not just about tutoring and teaching the kids, but also building relationship with them. sometimes it seems as if the volunteers are just teaching them for that few hours every sat and byebye then go home. however, some of the kids were asking if i'm going back this year to teach them on msn or fb and DT have been asking me out to play basketball. it does feels so good to be remembered by the children not only during that few hours every sat, doesnt it? yeah.
